Hawk 2
Telling the Odyssey at Walden
How the sun that day reflected off the pond
Made mirrors of spring alder and ash leaf.
Hawk you were there
I did not expect - could not have imagined
Such honor -
Then you landed by my foot
While I told the great tale
Didn't even see you there
But saw my audience
Slip into awe
And then to see you fly over
Their listening eyes
Land on a limb and look back at me
Oh I must not here slip into ecstasy
I have a story to tell, a poem to write
A story of finding a new son
Finding a new lover
Who knew you knew -Hawk
Many thanks Athena.
